This class is a full-day, hands-on educational opportunity, focused on the basics of raising heritage, conservation, and rare breed sheep in our region using regenerative agricultural practices. We cover a wide variety of topics, focused on the interests and desires of attendees, including but not limited to choosing the right sheep breed for your farm, housing, fencing, nutrition, health and healthcare basics, why pasture based and developing a pasture based management program, and connecting with a mentor.
We ask that you bring a lunch and beverage, comfortable chair for sitting outdoors, and note taking supplies. Come dressed appropriately for a farm-centered workshop, no open toed shoes.
A packet of basic information will be provided the day of the course.
